on the very first night of my group in october i was told one thing. "poverty is a lack of resources, nothing more!" then i was asked to define "what it's like now"
i was given a resource table listing 11 resources
- financial
- emotional
- mental
- language
- social support
- physical
- spirtual
- integrity and trust
- motivation and persistence
- relationships/role models
- knowledge of hidden rules
- and then i was asked to score each from 1 to 5.
- 1 = urgent/crisis
- 2 = vulnerable/high risk
- 3 = stable
- 4 = safe/secure
- 5 = thriving/giving back
- it was the beginning of really trying to understand the now! so what does the now look like here? i pass this little mission every morning on my way to take star to school! i am in love with the statues in their yard! i am in love with their little white building! i especially love that it is a mission! (note to self, work on a mission statement!) loving now!
