h is for hat no doubt!
this post is for miss jenny's alphabe-thursday.
how could i not share the photo of this amazing hat?! this is Ruby Nevada Bowen she was born in Animas City, Hidalgo, New Mexico in dec 1886... when my great grandmother was orphaned in 1906 she went to live with this her "aunt vada" until ruby nevada also died in childbirth with her first child in december of 1907.
i'll tell you what it has never been easy being a woman in the American southwest but the main thing is we look good doing it! happy veterans day to all! and while the guys are off fighting the wars... us women were left at home doing the hard part!

ReplyDeleteFabulous hat! And you're right, living in the southwest is hot and hard, but she looks great-wish I felt the way she looks when it's the middle of July in the desert! Fun post, so glad I stopped by.
