sarah francis estes was born 1 aug, 1843 in kentucky... she died 28th nov 1928 in moab utahi am not going to go on and on about how sick i have been this week i just looked though my family photos and tried to find someone who i seemed to relate to today...
sarah was married to james pointer... the winter of 1883 (this story is as was told to me by my mother) in the winter of 1883 james "rode away with some bad guys and never came back" on the 4th of june 1884 sarah gave birth to little ida francis pointer, who was baby #9 for sarah and james...
sarah proceeded to raise her 9 children by herself and never saw or heard of james again... sarah's 3rd child, a girl susan emmaline pointer grew up to be a wonderful mother to my great grandfather...
my mother said when she "asked grandpa if they ever heard about or found out who killed his grandfather... he replied 'there was no law out there back then...' who was going to do anything?"
yep! it's still crazy time here in the wild west....! just surviving today! i am blessed with the most amazing ancestors! those are some kinda tough boots to fill! somedays i think i have it rough but grandma sarah rocked! let's try to have a good week end and keep it all in perspective!
